On September 25, 2007, the County Council took final action on approving Montgomery County’s Agricultural Emergency Assistance Program (Ag. EAP). The Drought of 2007 placed hardship on all agricultural producers in Montgomery County and losses are estimated to exceed $13 million. The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce that sign-up for this program will begin in October, 2007 and will run until December 14, 2007. Funds that are available total $1.5 million. Payments are expected to be paid on a per acre basis for each eligible crop depending upon the severity of the loss.
