Poster & Coloring Contests

The National Association of Conservation Districts hosts poster and coloring contests each year coordinated through local districts for children nationwide. Below is the information to participate in the 2021 Poster Contest and the 2021 Coloring Contest. Please contact us if you have any questions or difficulties.

2021 Coloring Contest

The MASCD sponsors the state's coloring contest each year.
There are three categories for entry:
Class A - Kindergarten & 1st grades
Class B - 2nd & 3rd grades
Class C - 4th and 5 grades
Guidelines:
  • Coloring must be done by the participating child ONLY.
  • We ask that wax crayons be used - nothing else.
  • Judging will be based on neatness, attention to detail and how well directions were followed.
  • Please have each child fill out the block on the back of their entry or attach a 3 x 5 card with the contestant's name, address, age, grade, class, county, and home phone number.
  • Open to residents of Montgomery County only. If you are outside of Montgomery County, please contact your local district to participate. If you need help identifying or locating your district, please contact us and we will be happy to assist!
  • Coloring pages and entry forms should be mailed to Karen Walker at the Montgomery Soil Conservation District by the end of the day on May 28, 2021. Submissions received after this date cannot be judged.

10-12
Guidelines:
  • Any media may be used, including paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper, or other materials.

  • The 2021 Stewardship theme “Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities” must be included on the front side of each poster submission to be eligible for the national poster contest.
  • NACD encourages each student to do their own work. Note: Entries with student handwriting and coloring will score better than those designed, drawn, and colored by adult assistance.
  • Open to residents of Montgomery County only. If you are outside of Montgomery County, please contact your local district to participate. If you need help identifying or locating your district, please contact us and we will be happy to assist!
  • Posters and entry forms should be submitted to Karen Walker at the Montgomery Soil Conservation District by the end of the day on May 28, 2021. Submissions received after this date cannot be judged.
