Equipment Rental Program

The Equipment Rental Program is available to limited resource farmers or those interested in installing best management practices in Montgomery County, MD. 

We currently have the following equipment available for rental:

  • Land Pride 606NT Compact No-Till Drill​

  • Rain-Flo Mulch Lifter (Model #1800)

  • John Deere MS11 Series Manure Spreader

  • BCS Walk-Behind Tractors (Model 732)

  • Dew Drop Native Seed Drill by Little Sioux Prairie Co.

  • Bluebird Trip Aire (48") Tow Behind Lawn Aerator 

Two independent tine rotors, which have 40 interchangeable ½” closed spoon tines, give you an aerating width of 48”. This allows you to aerate up to 4 acres per hour.

Aerate from 0-3” for precise and consistent coring

Applications are first-come, first-served.

This farm equipment program is made possible through the support of Montgomery County Government, the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and the US Small Business Administration.  Montgomery Soil Conservation District works to promote conservation of our natural resources and sustain agriculture in Montgomery County. We support the use of Best Management Practices on the farm and wish you a safe and successful planting season. 

 

In order to qualify for this program you must have or be in the process of getting a Soil Conservation and Water Quality Plan on your property.

Before You Apply...

Please be aware that the following are required:

  • Proof of insurance - MSCD must be added to your insurance as a certificate holder

  • Training with staff on use of equipment
    (Be aware that scheduling training may take a week to 10 days after receipt of your application)

  • Verify your towing equipment is an adequate size.
