From the November 17, 1949 Board meeting:
Mr. Ingling, District Conservationist, told of the interest in Soil Conservation on the part of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in the area of the Patuxent River watershed, and in furtherance of this interest, they have purchased two tractors, a bush and bog harrow, a jeep and plow, a modern grass seeder and approximately 10,000 multiflora rose plantings for this county.
At this same meeting, George Lechlider, treasurer, resigned as treasurer and J. Raymond Kemp became the District’s second treasurer. Mr. Lechlider however remained as a Supervisor.
