Montgomery County Magnet School Students Tour Montgomery County Farms

On August 3 and 5, middle school students from across Montgomery County participated in a two-day summer camp field trip to Montgomery County farms to learn about County agriculture and about what farmers are doing to help protect the Chesapeake Bay.

The Montgomery Soil Conservation District, Office of Agriculture, and University of Maryland Extension partnered to bring this program to County students. It was a fun-filled educational outreach event! We appreciate the great conversations our farmers had with students.

Special thanks to Pleasant Valley Farm, Rockhill Orchard, Bella Vita Farm, and Butler’s Orchard for hosting our students for the day.
